The Health Occupation Program of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is seeking dedicated professionals to join our team as Investigators. In this vital role, you will help regulate practitioners of various allied healthcare fields—such as speech language pathologists, audiologists, hearing instrument dispensers, body art technicians and establishments, and providers at temporary events and unlicensed alternative health practices.

As an Investigator, you will play a key role in protecting public health by thoroughly investigating complaints, evaluating evidence, and recommending appropriate disciplinary actions. You will also negotiate settlements and enforce regulations to ensure practitioners meet professional standards and provide safe, competent services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, evaluate, and investigate written and oral complaints to determine if violations of state or federal laws and regulations have occurred.
  • Conduct interviews with practitioners and witnesses to gather evidence.
  • Analyze evidence to make disciplinary determinations and monitor compliance.
  • Perform inspections of body art establishments and temporary events across the state, including overnight travel.
  • Participate in advisory councils and provide technical assistance to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance investigation, inspection, and enforcement procedures.

If you are committed to protecting public health, ensuring compliance, and working in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply. Join us in making a difference by upholding the integrity and safety of healthcare professions!
